Renewable technology and EV Charging specialists, AWEnergy, today announce that their new charging station is open and findable on ZapMap. Located on Kemsley Drive in Chamberlains Barn, the new EV Charging Station provides two rapid DC chargers, and two AC chargers. Residents of Chamberlains Barn without Electric Vehicles of their own will have the opportunity to hire the HiyaCar community vehicle which will be hosted by the station.
The EV Charging Station at Kemsley Drive is a forerunner for its bigger sibling on the A5 at Checkley Wood, expected to open this autumn. The Checkley Wood charging station will be powered by a new Wind Turbine, and a Solar Array at Double Arches. The charging station will provide rapid EV Charging for up to 14 vehicles at once, as well as acting as a depot and charging station for Leighton Buzzard’s new fleet of electric buses.
John Fairlie, Managing Director of AWRenewables says, “We are excited to be unveiling the first of our EV Charging Stations for the residents of Leighton Buzzard. The opening of Kemsley Drive marks the culmination of a great deal of planning and preparation and symbolises the start of our transition to fully renewable Electric Vehicle charging for the residents of Leighton Buzzard. We are proud of our partnerships with CBC and HiyaCar and look forward to the summer at Checkley Wood with great anticipation.”
